NOTE: This is not an advertisement – I’ve stumbled across the product and wanted to share my experience with fellow dog lovers out there.
I was buying my dogs their normal food at the vet when I discovered the new Probono Bedtime Biscuits.
This treat is low in fat and has delicious ingredients that’s good for the digestive system and soothing properties. I for one have never seen anything like this. Great job for innovation Probono 🙂
Now firstly, low in fat is quite important (for me at least) as I do have two yorkies and my girl is very food driven and, well on the verge of being “big boned”. She is also very sensitive to new food and new food can easily upset her digestive system.
We’ve always been told that it’s not a good idea to eat before bedtime. But as this treat is low in fat, it’s perfect to end off a busy day. No need to worry about that extra calories. It doesn’t include any artificial colourants, flavourants or preservatives – an added bonus. The more natural, the better for both us and our furkids.
What makes this treat so special is the ingredients.
It contains the following:
• Honey & rosehips to help fight bad bacteria and boost the immune system
• Chamomile and passion flower to calm and soothe dogs at bedtime
• Probiotic yoghurt as a source of good bacteria for a healthy gut.
Sounds about perfect for a “before bed snack” don’t you think? I might even give it a go if I am planning on taking a road trip and need my doggies calm and relaxed.
What is the cost:
I did my shopping at Panorama Vet (in Panorama, Cape Town) as it’s convenient and they are open 24/7 but, I made another discovery… they are not the cheapest. I paid R58.60 but if you shop around you can pick this up for R50. It comes in a 350g, which contain about 50 biscuits. That’s R1 per treat – not bad at all.
Did my dogs enjoy it?

Well, as I mentioned, my girl is very food driven. She hardly will say no to food. As expected, she gobbled it up in two ticks. My boy is a very fussy eater. He prefers smaller treats and would often say no to new goodies that I bring home. He did take it straight away. Waited a little.. soused it out and then ate it. My only recommendation here would be that Probono makes a small dog version as I do find most of their treats (except the puppy one) is quite big for the small dogs.
Conclusion
I’m very impressed with the innovation and always happy to try something new. The treats contain very interesting ingredients which I can’t really confirm if it made my dogs calmer before bedtime, as they are usually quite ready to go sleep in the evening. I did try it out during the day and they were quite relaxed after having the treat so I have to mention that. It looks delicious and my dogs were interested in it, even the fussy one. Good value for money (especially if you shop around – but then again, what’s R8 if it’s convenient hey). All and all, a good experience with this product.

❤ only a pleasure!
You actually make it seem so easy with
your presentation but I find this matter to be actually something
that I think
I would never understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me.
I’m looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang of it!
